                    PLEASE NOTE THAT PART OF THE RIVERFRONT PARK WITH BE CLOSED OFF
                    DURING THE IMPLODING OF THE BRIDGE AND YOU MAY BE ADVISED OF
                    OTHER AREAS THAT ARE NOT SAFE DURING THE IMPLODING PROCESS.

 

                                                               THE PROCESS IS AS FOLLOWS:

                   Step 1:  Saw cutting the deck into 10' X 8' sections, we will start on spans 9 & 10
                        continuing south across spans 8 thru 4.  When saw cutting is done, we will remove all
                        Guardrail from the bridge and install safety cables on bridge before we remove any
                        road deck.

                        Step 2:  We will remove the road deck from spans 4 -10.  When all of the road deck is removed, we
                        will implode span 8.  We will take down spans 9 - 10 in the same time frame, cut-up & haul from
                        site.  Anderson Excavating will use a backhoe with hammer to take down Pier No. 6, B4 & B5.

                        Step 3:  Anderson Excavating Co. will execute a grid sounding of the river per plans & specs.

                        Step 4:  The implosion of Span 7 will occur, removed from the river and put on the north river bank,
                        cut-up and haul from site.

                        Step 5:  Span 6 will be imploded, removed from the river, placed on the north bank, cut-up and
                        hauled from site. (April 17, 2008) 

                        Step 6:  A.E.C. will implode Span 5.  Remove from river, placed on the North bank, cut-up, and
                        hauled from site. (April 29, 2008)

                        Step 7:  Span 4 will be imploded, removed from the river, placed on the North bank, cut-up, and
                        hauled from site. (May 6, 2008)

                        Step 8:  We will drill piers 2,3 & 4 down to 3' above water. (May 9, 2008)

                        Step 9:  Pier #4 will be imploded down to 3' above water. (May 19, 2008)

                        Step 10:  Implode Pier #4 to removal elevation, clam out of river & haul off. (May 22, 2008)

                        Step 11:  Implode Pier #3 down to 3' above water. (May 27, 2008)

                        Step 12:  We will implode Pier #3 to removal elevation, haul all concrete to shore. (June 2, 2008) 

                        Step 13:  Implode Pier #2 down to 3' above water. (June 5, 2008)

                        Step 14:  Implode Pier #2 to removal elevation, haul all concrete to shore. (June 11, 2008)

                        Step 15:  Pier #1 will be removed with Crane - wrecking ball & hammer on backhoe from barge.
                        We will load all concrete on barge and haul to north river bank, load on trucks and haul from site.  In
                        the same time frame we will remove Piers 5 & 6, B4 & B5. (June 16, 2008)

                        Upon completion of all Span removals, we will sweep the river from the south bank to the north bank
                         to make sure there is no concrete or steel in the river where we removed the bridge.
